Call for Applications: the Honorary Consul of Canada in Osaka

The information about the Honorary Consul of Canada in Osaka can be found through the links below.

The ideal candidate is a “friend of Canada” who is Japanese or Canadian, and who should ideally meet the following criteria:

reside in Osaka for most of the year
possess professional working ability in English and Japanese
hold a degree from a recognized university or an acceptable combination of equivalent education and/or work experience
demonstrate a tangible connection with Canada (for example: Canadian citizen and/or; employed by a Canadian company and/or; educated in Canada or by a Canadian educational institution and/or professional affiliation with Canadian associations and/or; commercial ties with Canadian companies; and/or having family in Canada)
have a positive reputation within the local community in Osaka
be able to maintain good relations with local government authorities and to rapidly engage with authorities when required
have excellent interpersonal skills, sound judgment, strong ethics and integrity
understand political, economic and social dynamics in Japan and Canada
